Book description (provided by author):

"Charlie's Wings" is the story of a young West Virginian, Charlie Carter, who enlists and goes to France in 1918, becoming a member of the first group of American aviators fighting in WWI. Like many, at first he considers the war "great sport," a game he does not want to miss. Before long though, he discovers WWI is anything but a game, and death is always just one mistake or one bullet away. Based on a true person, Charlie must dig deep within to find the strength, courage, and sense of humanity that will see him through to the end.
