Have you recently started writing? Do you already identify as a writer or a poet? No matter your level or experience, this joint collaborative writing workshop with Lake Literary Center and the Fond du Lac Public Library will illuminate your mind, offering a broad groundwork in writing. This four-week course will cover: listening to writers read their work aloud, drafting pieces, expanding on those pieces and editing them, and finally, performing a brief piece aloud at an open mic event! This four-week course will begin on Wednesday, November 19 at Lake Literary Center's open mic, Lake Lit Out Loud. Participants will enjoy hearing local writers read their work and learn more about the art of presenting the written word to a captive audience. The next two weeks, November 26 and December 3, participants will meet from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Fond du Lac Public Library for a guided writing seminar, writing time, and customized feedback, led by Lake Literary Center founder and owner Erica Floyd. There will be a one-week break, and then participants will come together again at Lake Literary Center on December 17 to "graduate" from the course by reading aloud the pieces they wrote and edited in the course at Lake Lit Out Loud, a monthly open mic that is free and open to the public.
