Mental Health and Suicide: a Family's Story In-Person
Join us for a candid disucssion on a topic that is often avoided. Sue Mitchell Metz, Executive Coordinator of NAMI Fond du Lac, will share her lived experience following the death of her son by suicide. She will speak about the ripple effects of that loss, including avoidance and addiction.
Through storytelling, Sue will define and explore the topics of mental health, mental illness, addiction, and suicide. We will learn how we can help prevent suicide by understanding its prevalence, recognizing the warning signs, and having the courage to ask difficult but potentially life-saving questions.
Note: This session may have upsetting themes and references regarding death by suicide.
