History at Home

History at Home In-Person / Online

WI had 38 POW camps during WWII housing 20,000 POWs. This presentation covers an overview of US POWs and POW camps and specific information regarding WI POW camps. We explore the stories of those who were prisoners of war at a WI POW camp, those who worked alongside those POWs, and those who may have lived in a community or near a community that once housed a POW camp.

History at Home programs focus on stories about the area's past every month. Programs are held on the second Thursday of every month at 6 pm in the McLane Room. The programs are free. Many History at Home programs are captured on video and shared on the library's YouTube channel.
