Long-form journalism – stories and articles found that dig deep into a topic – is thriving online. Taking advantage of these great reading opportunities, the Powerful Topics Reading Club will examine a different article at 6 pm the second Monday of the month. Free. No registration.
Each month, library staff will pick an article, video or podcast online and suggest anyone coming to the meeting read it beforehand. Links to the articles are found at fdlpl.org/powerful-topics-schedule.
Some of the many websites that feature long-form journalism that the reading club may sample include sundaylongread.com, narratively.com, longreads.com and longform.com. But there are many more. The reading club may also discuss TED and TEDx talks and listen to journalistic podcasts.
