MSW - Digital Death

Event Type: Library Event
Date: 4/2/2019
Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Time: 2:00 PM
Description:
If you have a mobile phone, take a selfie and share with your friends on Facebook, pay bills online, or own your own web domain, you have digital assets. Surveys show 95% of us don't know what happens to our digital assets after our death or in the event of incapacity. Even lawyers are unsure about the rules and laws managing our digital life. You will learn why planning and managing a digital-based death is different than planning and managing a paper-based death - where the instructions in your will or trust for your tweets and selfies must match the terms of service you agreed with when you opened a new account.
This program will also be aired as a FB Live Viewing Party.

Location: Eugene G. McLane Meeting Room
Presenter: Kathy Lane
