|Community Chat: Jordan Skiff of FDL Public Works|
Event Type: Library Event|
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
City of Fond du Lac Public Works Director Jordan Skiff will address several hot topics, including the March flooding, Lakeside Park master plan and bike/pedestrian trails. Free. No registration. Plenty of time for Q&A.
Skiff’s talk will outline how Public Works’ nine divisions work together to provide services in myriad areas of the city: construction, maintenance, wastewater, transit, parks and more. His presentation will include photos from the March flooding and will outline the city’s response and continued work repairing the damage. He’ll also review efforts to eradicate trees infested with the emerald ash borer.
Skiff has been Fond du Lac’s Public Works director since September 2011. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in the same role for the city of Sparta. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and spent five years as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Sheila, have eight sons. This summer, the children will be far-flown: in Okinawa, Ireland, Texas and Georgia. In November, the couple will welcome their first daughter-in-law to the family.
Community Chat programs give residents opportunities to hear directly from local government and nonprofit organizations. Representatives will share information about costs, goals, accomplishments and more. The informal programs will take place every first Thursday of the month.
