T-Shirt Quilt 2-Part Class in the Idea Studio

Event Type: Library Event
Date: 3/9/2017
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Description:
Two-part class Feb 23 and Mar 9 for adults and children aged 13 and older. Beginning sewers will get step-by-step instructions for making a quilted blanket using T-shirts and fleece fabric. Most of the sewing work will be completed out of class time either in the Idea Studio or at home. Each participant must provide the T-shirts and fleece fabric: at least three yards of lightweight fleece fabric and 20 T-shirts if using just the fronts, or 10 if using fronts and backs. Important: T-shirts with heavy, rubbery paint/designs will not work. And the shirts must be large enough to fit a 14-inch square cutout (adult size M or larger).

Registration is required. Online-only registration begins at 9:30 am Thu Feb 9 here at the Calendar. No walk-ins or younger children allowed.

Attendees should pick up a project sheet from the Idea Studio before the first class. Most if not all of the sewing will be done on participantsí own time. The Idea Studio has two sewing machines to use, for free, but patrons must acquire badging (training) on the machines before use. Badging sessions are held regularly.
